I remember sitting in a club in Washington DC and hearing Nina Simone’s “Here Comes the Sun” and falling instantly in love with it… and wanting desperately to write a song that spoke to the same concept of walking literally and figuratively into the healing rays of the sun. A few months later I finished The Light:)

A few days ago I shared a short poem I came across, that spoke about someone giving you a box of darkness. The beauty about letting the light shine into your being is that regardless of how hard anyone tries – no one will every be able to give you a box of darkness. Want to know why? Think about it… what happens to the darkness in a physical box if you opened it outside while the sun was shinning? The darkness disappears because its impossible for light and darkness to occupy the same space at the same time. This physical rule applies to your mental, emotional, and spiritual worlds as well… so keep your light shining my friends.
