As some of you know, it’s been a difficult year. I watched my father and my brother take their last breaths… a few months apart from each other.

My brother really got me (not many people do)… he understood me… he approved of me… we were so much alike, it was easy. He was a gift.

Loosing him, so unexpectedly after my father, really knocked the wind out of me. I wasn’t even sure I wanted to continue making music anymore. I didn’t feel like creating was enough… I didn’t feel like my contributions mattered.

Thankfully now, I realize (on most days) that I am enough and my music matters.

I am 50 today… and this feels like the best gift — you are enough and what you do matters.
